If you just moved in the area, like my family has, and you are looking for an orthodontist, look no more. We moved from Northern Virginia and had the best orthodontist. We were in search... for a local orthodontist who can continue my son's treatment. With a dental background, I had certain expectations when looking for any kind of dental practice. We had an initial consult appointment at another orthodontist and was not impressed nor satisfied with staff and and the orthodontist, even my son did not feel the vibe. Then I found Dr. Sakowitz, my son and I initially felt all the warm and fuzzy feeling as soon as we entered and were greeted by the staff. Dr. Sakowitz did his initial exam and it was very thorough, unlike the previous orthodontist we went to. Dr. Sakowitz is very personable and it was nice that he was able to start my son's treatment that day. The patient coordinator was very clear on explaining our financial responsibilities to be able to start that day.The facility is very inviting and clean. The technicians are presentable and are very thorough on infection control, another thing I'm very particular about.Overall, our experience with Dr. Sackowitz so far has been very impressive. If I could give Dr. Sakowitz and his team more stars I would. As a adult who needed braces for the first time, I procrastinated for years until my consultation with Dr. Sakowitz. I was... impressed by his approach, treatment plans and estimates, and his empathy towards someone doing this for the first time in their mid-thirties. From there, my experience only got better. The office in Hamlin is bright, clean, and never crowded, and I was always in and out of my appointments in no time. The best part is the atmosphere the entire staff creates - they seem to genuinely like and care for each other and that created a happy and relaxed environment. I seriously looked forward to my appointments. If you are an adult who is thinking about braces, go to Sakowitz Smiles! I also never saw an unhappy kid there over my 1+ year of regular appointments, so safe to say it's a good choice for kids too!read more

First, the... front receptionist are simple AMAZING. They are always there to help you with a smile and a great personality. I have call to reschedule appointments and they fast and reposive looking to see what is available during your availability. That may sound ordinary but it doesn't feel like you bothering them but that they trying to do their best to try to accommodate you. Second is their specialist and doctor are true professional. From the interaction with them I can say they are efficient and knowledgeable in their craft. Always ready to answer questions and make sure that I understand exactly what they plan on doing and why. We went to another orthodontist in town a few months ago to get a consult for our daughter. That orthodontist recommended returning in a year when her remaining two baby teeth fell out.... Their office assistant would not give me a direct quote on what treatment would cost, either. I really wanted a ballpark so we could start to budget for her braces. The lady in that office also declined to go over payment options available, again because we were delaying treatment for a year. Eventually she gave me a scale of cost, with a $1000 difference in possible outcomes.Fast forward to Wednesday afternoon when I stopped in to Dr. Sakowitz’s Office to inquire about a consult after I mailed a package from the UPS store. Leidy greeted me with a warm smile and a welcoming manner. Dr. Sakowitz happened to be at the front reception area so I asked him if he did treatment on students before all of the baby teeth were out. He said it depends on the action plan for treatment and offered for us to come in for a free consultation. Leidy checked he calendar and we were back the following day.The staff made my daughter and I feel welcome, and put her at ease about her treatment. Dr. Sakowitz suggested starting treatment asap before my daughter hits her next growth spurt so her teeth have more time to move into the correct position. Leidy did our consult with Dr. Sakowitz in the room answering both of our questions, making jokes, and making us feel really great about giving them our business. While he spent more time with us than usual as the last appointment of the day, he was warmer and more forthright in his answers than my previous experience. When you are making a large investment, even into your children, you want to feel like your patronage is appreciated, and not like someone is doing you a favor. We felt like family here, and my daughter starts treatment Monday. She will have braces on her teeth a whole 10 months sooner than out last timeline, and we are relieved that she is getting the attention and treatment that we felt was necessary. We highly recommend this practice. They have another office in Orlando and this location has only been open since May so they have appointment times available.read more
