Dr. Sakowitz has a lengthy history in Central Florida, extending back to the Newborn Nursery at Florida Hospital and through high school at Lake Mary. Throughout his life, he has been an active member of the community, volunteering for a variety of civic and humanitarian groups. Dr. Sakowitz himself experienced the confidence and joy that a healthy smile offered him as an adolescent. He was astonished to find, as an avid amateur archeologist, that early Native Americans frequently perished from dental disease. He, therefore, resolved to devote his life to orthodontics.

Dr. Sakowitz received his Cum Laude degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), where he shared two national football titles with Tim Tebow. He subsequently went on to the prestigious Ivy League University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He was awarded an academic Dean’s Scholarship and graduated first in his class.

We originally looked at Sakowitz because of the convenience of the location. When we decided to get our first child’s braces here we were so impressed on how clean and bright the office was. Dr. Sakowitz has a calmness about him which we appreciated. The real magic behind the office is Jacqueline, Leidy and Desiree and the front desk ladies. They understand the hectic and ever changing schedules of parents and kids with work, school and activities and work super hard to roll with the punches of making appts and sometimes having to change them due to ever changing schedules. They are so kind and understand. Also they have a text option for communication and as a busy mom that is beyond amazing to be able to communicate that way. My second daughter we had Sakowitz do the braces as with her and she is about to get them off. Our third kid will be getting braces in the next couple of years. The only negative I would have is the ladies who are putting on the rubber bands are not very warm to the patients. They never introduce themselves to the patients and don’t talk to them at all. I think it would ease the patients jitters if they did. Overall Sakowitz is awesome!
