Dr. Scott Sakowitz

Dr. Sakowitz has a long history in Central Florida, dating back to the Newborn Nursery at Florida Hospital through his graduation from Lake Mary High School. Throughout, he has been an active member of the community, participating in numerous civic and charitable organizations. Having had braces as an adolescent, Dr. Sakowitz personally experienced the confidence and joy a good smile provided him. As an avid amateur archeologist, he was surprised to learn that early Native Americans often died from dental disease. It was then he decided to devote his life to dentistry.

Education

Dr. Sakowitz graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where he was lucky enough to celebrate two national football championships along with Tim Tebow. He then traveled to Philadelphia where he attended the prestigious Ivy League University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received an academic Dean’s Scholarship and graduated at the top of his class.

Dr. Sakowitz was fortunate to be accepted to the renowned orthodontics program at The University of Michigan. He spent three years in the freezing cold to perfect his skills in Orthodontics and completed his Master’s research in Virtual Reality and Orthodontics which was published in Virtual Reality Journal. He was exposed not only to the cold but also to the latest techniques and technology in orthodontic care.

Personal & Family Life

Dr. Sakowitz is married to Dr. Marla Sakowitz, a Miami native. They have two kids – keep an eye out for their photos decorating our office and website. Dr. Sakowitz has a love for puzzles and is proud to have been a contestant (and winner) on The Wheel of Fortune!

While in Michigan, in his spare time, Dr. Sakowitz created the 2nd escape room in America, in which he has grown to 14 locations. His ability to be creative and think outside the box truly differentiates him from many other practitioners.
